The Côte-Rôtie appellation

Our Côte-Rôtie vineyards are situated in the north of the appellation. The soil contains ferrous mica schists. The rocks are visible on the surface and the depth of the soil is about fifty centimetres. However, the roots are so strong they can penetrate the rock and grow a few metres downwards. From the depths, the roots absorb all the elements necessary to nourish the Syrah vine, producing a unique Côte-Rôtie wine.

The Condrieu appellation

Our Condrieu vineyard is on the hillside of Chery, on a granite soil. It is south-facing. This vineyard is made up entirely of small terraces. We have almost a kilometre of retaining walls covering half a hectare. The result of this layout is that Chery accumulates considerable amounts of both heat and light. Consequently, the Viognier – a grape variety which is unique to the Condrieu appellation – can reach perfect maturity.

The Coteau du Lyonnais appellation

Our wines of  Coteaux du Lyonnais comes from vineyards located in “Millery”, “Grigny” and “Orliénas”, three villages situated in the south of the appellation not far from the River Rhône. In “Millery” and “Grigny” the soil contains glacial moraines whereas in “Orliénas” the soil contains granite. The vineyards are south-east facing. These vineyards are relatively flat as the valley is not very steep. The ground consists of sand and large pebbles making the soil warm, allowing the red Gamay and white Chardonnay grape varieties to reach a good ripening.
